WCA is very keen on providing support through discussion and active support on issues related to how we can improve and “de-gender” archaeology in the field. Discussion topics can range from pragmatic posts from new archaeologists starting out on what to take to the field, to posts from seasoned archaeologists faced with dilemmas that don’t have a black and white resolution.

This is a forum that WCA hopes will generate a lot of energy because this is something that is relevant to all of us regardless of where we are in our professional lives and paths. Regardless of whether we are in a “publish or perish” situation or not, we will all benefit with discussions and encouragement on the publication process. Posts can range widely here from discussions on how to start working on a publication, identification of a venue for publication, to peer review, strengthening arguments and data presentations. No New Posts Balancing Archaeology and Family Life

Many of the WCA Core members are successfully managing being active members in their profession while being involved in a family. There is no recipe to maintaining a balance, and each of us has done it differently. As such, as a group we can provide each other with a wide range of insights on what has worked, not worked, and still waiting to see if it has worked.
