Women in California Archaeology (WCA) is pleased to offer this online discussion forum for all individuals practicing archaeology in California. We hope that this venue will be a useful outlet for open and professional discussions on topics and issues we face as archaeologists. The primary objective of WCA is to provide support and mentorship to women practicing archaeology in the state through individual and/or group interactions. These objectives do not exclude men.
The WCA envisions this forum as a place where any archaeologist can voice their opinions, insights, concerns, questions and advice without concern for prejudice or judgment. The anonymous nature of the forum is design to assist in this openness, and we sincerely hope that all users will honor our vision to this purpose and not indulge in using this forum to disparage or discredit any individuals, agencies, companies or institutions during discussions. As such, we would like to remind users not to post in CAPS (this would be considered shouting), to avoid from providing details clearly directed at particular individuals or institutions, and to refrain from using inappropriate language and negative commentary (i.e., bashing/name calling/sarcasm).
I was at the SCA WCA forum for 2/3 the time, but then had to leave to see a friend give a talk (her first SCA paper!woot woot!). I missed the section on balancing archaeology and home/family life. Can anybody give me a summary of what was discussed?
